I attended the three-day iLearningGlobal Launch in Las Vegas March 19-22, 2009. One of the speakers/authors who spoke is Bill Bartman. You may not know Bill, but he is the 25th wealthiest person in the United States and has received numerous honors including a permanent place in the Smithsonian Institution as one of the most successful entrepreneurs in American history.
Bill spoke on the 4 things he believes leads to success and I want to share them with you today.
1. The only opinion of you that counts or matters is your own. We can acknowledge our mistakes, but never forget to honor our successes.
2. You have to learn to forgive! This is tough, but it can be done. Harboring ill feelings for others will keep you locked down without a chance to move ahead. There are three categories to focus on here:
A. Forgive those who did what they did.
B. Forgive all those who did nothing.
C. Forgive yourself.
3. Everything in life is a choice. We are all responsible for our choices. Some of them are good and some are poor, but regardless they are our choices. Take ownership of your choices.
4. You have to invest in yourself. People who constantly invest in themselves either through attending live seminars, reading, listening to motivational speakers, or watching experts on video drive their own success. These are the people who will do well in any economy and will, on average, double their income every three years.
