Are You Trapped?
Are You Trapped?
I tell a story using a prop I created out of a hollowed out coconut and some rope. I ask the audience who can tell me what it is? I usually get lots of different responses. Some people suggest it is a child’s game, others come up with elaborate explanations that their creative minds have quickly composed. Then I tell them it is a monkey trap. That’s right a monkey trap!
You see, you have this hollowed out coconut with a rope on it. You tie it around a tree and then fill the coconut with fruit and food that would attract a monkey. The unsuspecting monkey discovers what he believes is a treasure, sticks his hand in it, then clenches his fist around the food. With a clenched fist the monkey is stuck. He won’t let the fruit go because he thinks it is good for him. Thus, he is trapped!
We are like that in many ways. We go about life hanging on to old paradigms that simply don’t work anymore. With our world becoming increasingly smaller and our economic conditions in turmoil, we need to let go of old thought patterns and strike out to find and embrace new ways of making our own economy. Sure we embrace the internet as a means of networking and maybe sharing our business, but are we using it to our best advantage?
So many people are seeking ways to make their own lives better both personally and professionally. They are looking for a way to build home businesses that seemly are hard to get off the ground. The problem is they really don’t treat their efforts like a business. They have no plan! Only about 3% of the population creates plans that will eventually lead to success. They are the ones who succeed in spite of everything that seems to be going wrong in others lives. Change your thinking and release the old negative thought patterns that may be stalling your progress.
Are you priorities straight? Mine are God, Family, and then business. It wasn’t always so. For many years I put my career first over God and Family. Nothing Much
About two years ago I walked out our back door, looked up at the second story of our house and noticed a broken window. Now, just a few days before we purchased a b.b. gun for our sons to play with in the back yard and I was certain the window had been broken by a stray shot.
I walked up to my youngest son and asked, "What do you know about the broken window on the second story of the house?"
He was about 7 years old at the time. He look me straight in the eye and said, "Nothing..........(long pause).........MUCH!"
After I quit laughing, it dawned on me that lots of people could answer the same when it comes to their knowledge about marketing on the internet. Not so long ago if someone had asked me what I knew about internet marketing, I would have said the same thing. Not anymore!

Congress and our new President just passed the Stimulus Package, and with over 1000 pages of Federal Legislation I’m sure your name wasn’t actually in it. Mine either! However, for those people who are driven to achieve more there is no more perfect time to go into business for yourself! You need to stop listening to the media’s doom and gloom and start making your own successful economy.
With all that is happening right now, are you ready to take control of your own economy? Are you ready to create your own stimulus? Maybe you’re tired of working for someone else, and just maybe you have found yourself unemployed with no immediate hope for a new job. Making A Living Online
Let's be honest, we all want to earn more money and take more time off! There are ways to make that happen, but there are no short-cuts. One of the first things you have to do is absolutely commit to being a goal oriented, results driven person.
How many of you have made New Year's Resolutions? You know the routine...you write down 10 resolutions, but then you put the list away and you don't look at them again until next year. The next New Year's Eve you might be surprised to find that you actually did complete some of those resolutions. The act of writing down your goals increases the likelihood of accomplishing them.
Quickly write down three goals that if they could happen today would change your life drastically. Do it now and only take as much as one minute to do it. It could be health, family, job goals. It could be money, money, money!
Once you have the three goals, which one if you could accomplish it today would be the most important? Now write it down every day! Write it in first person, present tense. Ex: I weight 185 pounds. I earn $250,000 per year. By writing your goals every day, you begin to activate you subconscious mind and will initiate the "Law of Attraction." You will find that accomplishing your goals will be easier and easier.
