So many people have what we like to call “excuse-itus” or an inflammation of the excuse gland. They whine and complain and give excuses for all the bad things that happen to them. Fully 20% of the world’s population earns 80% of the income. Where do you see yourself? Have you fully envisioned a positive picture of where you want to be and how to get there?

The University of PA did a 22 year study of 350,000+ people and asked them; “What do you think about most of the time?” The answers absolutely followed what you are logically concluding. The top 10% of people thought about what they want and how to get it the majority of their waking hours. They didn’t say “someday I’ll get it” or make an excuse like “it won’t happen to me, nothing good ever happens to me.” They set sight on what they wanted and systematically and carefully planned ways to achieve it. The successful top 10% asked the question “HOW?” in order to make their dreams come true.

Top people are future oriented, they believe in idealization (positively imagining themselves fully successful in regards to God, family, income, health, and financial freedom. And, they are GOAL oriented!

How do you become goal oriented?

1. Decide what you want.
2. Write it down.
3. Set a deadline.
4. Make a list of everything you can do to accomplish each goal.
5. Organize the list and prioritize them.
6. Take action
7. Take action every day - See how important it is to take action?

When Bill Bartman Speaks, I Listen..So Should You!

I attended the three-day iLearningGlobal Launch in Las Vegas March 19-22, 2009. One of the speakers/authors who spoke is Bill Bartman. 2. You have to learn to forgive! This is tough, but it can be done. Harboring ill feelings for others will keep you locked down without a chance to move ahead. There are three categories to focus on here:

A. Forgive those who did what they did.
B. Forgive all those who did nothing.
C. Forgive yourself.

3. Everything in life is a choice. We are all responsible for our choices. Some of them are good and some are poor, but regardless they are our choices. Take ownership of your choices.

4. You have to invest in yourself. People who constantly invest in themselves either through attending live seminars, reading, listening to motivational speakers, or watching experts on video drive their own success. These are the people who will do well in any economy and will, on average, double their income every three years.

Are You Trapped?

I tell a story using a prop I created out of a hollowed out coconut and some rope. I ask the audience who can tell me what it is? I usually get lots of different responses. Some people suggest it is a child’s game, others come up with elaborate explanations that their creative minds have quickly composed. Then I tell them it is a monkey trap. That’s right a monkey trap!

You see, you have this hollowed out coconut with a rope on it. You tie it around a tree and then fill the coconut with fruit and food that would attract a monkey. The unsuspecting monkey discovers what he believes is a treasure, sticks his hand in it, then clenches his fist around the food. With a clenched fist the monkey is stuck. He won’t let the fruit go because he thinks it is good for him. Thus, he is trapped!

We are like that in many ways. We go about life hanging on to old paradigms that simply don’t work anymore. With our world becoming increasingly smaller and our economic conditions in turmoil, we need to let go of old thought patterns and strike out to find and embrace new ways of making our own economy. Sure we embrace the internet as a means of networking and maybe sharing our business, but are we using it to our best advantage?

So many people are seeking ways to make their own lives better both personally and professionally. They are looking for a way to build home businesses that seemly are hard to get off the ground. The problem is they really don’t treat their efforts like a business. They have no plan! Only about 3% of the population creates plans that will eventually lead to success. They are the ones who succeed in spite of everything that seems to be going wrong in others lives. Change your thinking and release the old negative thought patterns that may be stalling your progress.

Are you priorities straight? Mine are God, Family, and then business. It wasn’t always so. For many years I put my career first over God and Family. Nothing Much

About two years ago I walked out our back door, looked up at the second story of our house and noticed a broken window. Now, just a few days before we purchased a b.b. gun for our sons to play with in the back yard and I was certain the window had been broken by a stray shot.

I walked up to my youngest son and asked, "What do you know about the broken window on the second story of the house?"
